Derk van Veen organized a chess competition during the conference. Patricia Horvath and Cornelia Biacsics helped on-site. Boriss Mejías and Jan Karremans helped with marketing of the event. Svitlana Lytvynenko created an app for the tournament, which can be re-used for other events. The winners are: Håvard, Miguel and Lætitia.
An impromptu Karaoke night at the Domahar Rock Bar in Athens drew a great Postgres crowd after the conference on Thursday 24th. The event was put together by Jimmy Angelakos, with much help, support and encouragement from Floor Drees and El Anastasiou.
On the 29th, the Prague Postgres Meetup for October took place, organised by Gülçin Yıldırım Jelínek and Tomas Vondra. The speakers were Ondrej Hlavac and Josef Machytka. Josef's slides can be found here. Gülçin also wrote a blog posting about the Meetup.

On October 22nd the Extensions Ecosystem Summit took place, as an unofficial side event of PGConf EU in Athens. Supported by Tembo, Percona, Xata, and Timescale, 5 speakers shared their (experience working on) extensions, followed by an open space / contribution fest meant to attract new contributors to the projects.
